As soon as we got home from the wedding in Florida, around 10:30 PM, we got a very scary phone call from Scott's Uncle and Cousin. Scott's dad (referred to as Dicky or Papa) was given some bad news. Dicky has been fighting cancer for a little over 2 years and it has now taken a bad turn. We were told he had very little time and we need to get there as soon as possible. So after a night of sleep we hopped back in the car on Monday and drove to Boston. Dicky came home from the hospital on Tuesday, after meeting with his team of Dr.'s the conclusion is he has more than a week but no one is sure of the actual time, it could be weeks or months.
It was so great seeing him and he was suprised to see us. We didn't tell him we were coming because he would have demanded us not to come. He really doesn't want to be a burden on his family. He was extremely weak and very tired, but we enjoyed every minute with him. We shared some great moments and laughs while we were there along with a few tears. Below you will some pictures we took while we were there. Thank you to everyone that sent their prayers and helped us while we were away.
Right now he is still undergoing treatment to help manage his pain and will take more sand scans in a few weeks. We are hoping he gets to come down to visit us soon.
