Summer Days - August

We had a fun filled August here in the Grant house. I got a yummy new dessert recipe for BonBons and had to make them as soon as we got back from FL. Of course all the kids had to lick the bowls and spoons. Yummy!!

I had a little mental block and thought it would be so fun to go to the beach with my friends and the kids without the boys!! Yes, I said without HELP! ha ha. It was Dana, Marianne, and myself with 7 fully energtic kids. It was close quaters, but honestly I did have a good time. Except, I got hooked on Chocolate Shakes and French Fries (my birthday outing at Johnny Rockets). I think I had a chocolate shake everynight for a few weeks after that. (Time to start running again)!!

We always have fun at the neighborhood pool, and for the last weekend of summer they had a big party with a DJ, games, and cocktails. We love hanging out with our buddies and always have a good time. School starts and a new routine begins soon.

Summer Times ending

Summertime came to a quick end, but we had a blast. Mackenzie did her first zip line at Stone Mountain and loved it. Her and Campbell really loved the lazer show it was so fun. Scott was even impressed! For me it brought back the memories of going there as a kid with my cousins. We went to Fl to see Uncle Jasons and Aunt CaCa's new house. It was a short visit but we had a great time. Us girls had pedicures, we swam at the pool, the beach, and the park. They also had a big BBQ and some of our good old friends were there and it was great catching up with everyone.

July 4th Weekend

Happy Fourth!
This picture was taken by Amber Greenwalt, what a GREAT shot!!

<
Fourth of July was such a great relaxing day. We went to our friends house on the lake and swam and ate most of the day. We were having so much fun that we actually went back for round two after nap time. Thanks Skinners for a really fun day. After we left and took showers we walked the neighborhood to watch fireworks. We ended up at the Greenawalts and watched Brian's light show. A great ending to a wonderful day.

July 3rd 2009 - On our way to Kelly and Brad's Wedding.
If you haven't heard me talk about these two, it was a LONG time coming.

Kelly (& Milly her dog) were incredible neighbors and friends of ours in our first home in Greenville. Brad moved in a few doors down and we all grew a great friendship. Well we watched their relationship bloom, and bloom, and bloom.... Well I remember Kelly asking me on our 1st Anniversary "how long did we date before we got engaged?" I said 5 years and she said "I will NEVER wait that long". Well 5 years later we are headed to their wedding with our 4 and 1 year old. Kelly, never say never!!! We love you guys, and wish you the longest & happiest life together.

Campbell went right up to the cutest little boy and said "moan", which is com'on let's dance, in 18 month old language. Glad to see she is already a strong women not afraid of asking a boy to dance.

Daddy always ask Mackenzie before a wedding "Are you going to dance with me?" I will have to save all these pictures to show at her wedding one day.

I guess Campbell wanted in on this action!

And the Bride hits the Dance floor and you know my girls were headed to "princess". Mackenzie talked about dancing with Princess Kelly all night long. Thanks Kelly you made her night.

Kelly and Mackenzie have always had a very special connection. Even after being away for so long, Mackenzie still talks about Ms. Kelly and Mr. Brad. She just loves her.

If you notice Campbell wants to be in the band and Mackenzie wants to be center stage.

Summer Days- June Part 3

Matching Cuties yet again. (Really what has happen to me??)
Long days at the pool, end with food in your face.

Happy Plates! Just playing around with lunch time for the girls.

First day of YMCA camp. I still don't know where Mackenzie picked up this pose.

CHEESE! Campbell says

She is getting so big!!
Little Miss Personality here put on Mrs. Potato Heads glasses and walked around the house screaming "Mama, Mama", when I looked and started laughing she fell to the floor laughing too. Next thing I knew she came around the corner again doing the same thing, so I just had to take this picture. It's funny watching her realize she did something that made me laugh.
It's time for Campbell's First Haircut. Sister held her hand, I gave her a lollipop, and she sat in a cool car, and still she SCREAMED the entire time.

Mackenzie on the other hand LOVES to get her "hair done". She is a true little princess.

We are so lucky to have a great theme park like Carowinds near by for
those days you just want to do something different. This was actually our Anniversary. What better way to spend the day than with our family, playing together.
Lunch time!
Mackenzie has finally stopped being afraid of rides and slides.
This was the most fun we have ever had at carowinds with her. Daddy told her if she rode all the water slides with him she would get a treat..... a few hours later we were eating "pink" Dipping Dots... Yummy!

The End.
Well not really, but this was a cute shot!
Father's Day weekend was also a blast, but I didn't take any pictures. Friday was the first of many "Music by the Pond" nights in our neighborhood. I seem to remember there was also a late night Sundae with some friends. Saturday, after some pool time we were invited to a BEER and BRATS party at our friends house. Well after lot's of dancing, surprise punch, and a 3;30 AM bed time... Sunday (Father's Day) was more of a "Lazy Day" if you know what I mean
(We rescheduled our big dinner for daddy until the next day). wink wink

Summer Days - June Part 2

A day at the Fairbanks Zoo in Columbia, SC with the Baur Family.
I think these are my new favorite animals. I loved watching them swim, amazing.

Campbell now understands what we mean when we say she's a little monkey!

He was so CUTE!! I wanted to just reach out and touch this little Kola.

These Bears put on a GREAT show for the crowd. They were wrestling for a long time. Everyone was waiting for one of the bears to get thrown over the cliff into the water.

After leaving the Monkey's flying over our heads, Mackenzie took Emma by hand like she was her little mother and lead her around. Such cuties!

Campbell enjoyed getting really up close to each animal, but most of the animals wouldn't come to play until... we found the Giraffe's.

Hence her outfit.
Campbell loved watching the Giraffe's she would just giggle every time that come near her.

I think this was one of the coolest things I have ever done at a zoo!

Both girls loved feeding the Giraffes, we could stayed here all day.

BFF's ended the day all hot and sweaty so we headed to the pool, but not before having some Dipping Dots! :)

Summer Days - June Part 1

Yes, that is our Mackenzie finally swimming and jumping in the pool! It only took the water park from our beach trip, and a few swimming lessons to give her the confidence she needed to become this summers little fishy.
Right after our Beach trip with the March family we turned around and went back to Myrtle for a few more days in the sun with Nana!!

Balloon making fun with these flower bracelet's for all four girls.

Nana and Mackenzie were goofing around on Barefoot Landing. Why is Nana always the boy?

The girls had fun out making their own Pizza's while mommy and Nana had some "tini's"!

These little moving animals were so funny to watch we just had to let Mackenzie ride it once. She had a blast running into all the other animals. It was like "Bumper Animals".
How sweet sister is helping get more water for the buckets.

Making new friends on the beach was one of my fond memories growing up,
maybe they will remember this too.

This kind of reminds me of the American Gothic picture???

Nana and Mackenzie are looking like such lovely ladies on this beautiful night.
Here I go matching them again, he he
Picnic in the park with our friends, softball for the boys, and picking wedding bouquets, these are "The Days of Our Lives".

Why do I always see these two sneaking snacks?
